National Girlfriends Day is August 1st, so load up your car with all your favorite gals and head to Madison for a girls weekend! Heres an itinerary for the perfect weekend getaway!
12pm: Grab lunch at Madison Produce
Gear up for a fun-filled weekend with a delicious sandwich from Madison Produce. Madison Produce also serves craft beer and wine! My favorite sandwich (hands down) is The Burnin’ Sherman!
1-5pm: Walk around downtown Madison and shop ’til you drop!
For a list of all the unique shopping our beautiful downtown has to offer, click here!
5pm: Check into the Kirby House Bed and Breakfast to freshen up before dinner
A Girls’ weekend is not complete without a giant sleepover at the Kirby House!! With themed room names like the Sheep, Fox, Owl, and Jackalope rooms, each nook of this house offers a different and unique experience. Depending on the size of your group, you can reserve the entire property and have the house to yourselves.
7pm: Dinner and Drinks at Mint Julep
With a full bar and a delicious menu, Mint Julep is a place you can’t miss! Make sure you try their signature drink!
10pm: Head back to the Kirby House!
Pour a glass of wine, sit on the porch (there are many from which to choose), maybe even cool off with a dip in their beautiful pool.
9am: Breakfast and Farmers Market at Farmview Market
On Saturday mornings Farmview hosts a farmers market with local vendors. Head inside for breakfast (oh, the rooster biscuit!), a cup of joe, or refuel for the day with their juice bar (the Kale-icious is our personal favorite!)
11 am: Facials at Pure Bliss Spa
Pamper yourself with a facial at Pure Bliss and pick up your favorite beauty products. Just the aroma and ambiance of this shop will have you feeling relaxed!
1pm: Lunch at Amici Livery
This iconic building, once serving as a Livery Stable as part of Madison’s downtown corridor more than a 100 years ago, has now been beautifully re-purposed, restored, and transformed into a new-and-improved Amici’s Italian Cafe AND Brewery (that’s right, complete with tanks and a full bar!). Amici Livery brews their own beer (as well as having local favorites) and has a great selection of pizza, sandwiches, and salads!
2 pm: Walk around the Historic District and take a look at the houses
With a self-guided walking tour downloadable right to your smart phone, you’ll be good to go as you set out on this 1.5 mile walk through Georgia’s 2nd largest historic district.
(Note: Search “Madison Ga Downtown Tour” in your App store).
4pm: Board and Brush
Pick up your favorite bottle of wine and take-out from your favorite restaurant and make a reservation for a DIY Wooden Sign workshop at Board and Brush. This is ALWAYS an activity that includes a lot of laughter and just good ole’ fashion quality girl time!
7pm: Town 220 for dinner and drinks on the patio.
Dinner on the back porch of Town 220 overlooking the beautiful greenery of Roundbowl Springs Park is the perfect end to a busy day.
10pm: Back to Kirby House for one final night!
Relax on the back deck and enjoy the quietude that surrounds this B&B nestled within Madison’s historic district.
9am: Breakfast and coffee at Perk Avenue.
This the perfect place to watch the town go by, Perk Avenue is a local favorite on Sunday mornings. This is also a perfect place to begin talking about planning your next adventure back to Madison!
